Inspiration
My inspiration to upgrade the SI 5066 came form viewing amt's (diyAudio member) example:

amt manufactured his own chassis from aluminum (6063 channel and 6061 bar & round stock). You can readily see his upgrades:
- Custom aluminum chassis with thermal ventilation holes
- Upgraded potentiometer (Alps/Radio Shack dual stereo 100k Ohm RS #271-1732) with upgraded knob
- Separate power switch
- High quality (Cardas) RCA input jacks
- High quality speaker output binding posts
- Panel-mounted DC power jack
- SLA (12 VDC / 9.5 AH) battery power source
- Sturdy base
This is what got me thinking that I could attempt a similar project. Thanks amt for all of your help and your inspiration.
