Photography
I have too many hobbies and too little time so, naturally, I began another
hobby...photography.
 |
My interest in photography started when I received my
very first digital camera, the
Nikon Coolpix 2500. The "digital" part is
what interested me most as I no longer had to purchase expensive film
and
pay to have it developed. I could see my camera's results instantly
without having to wait to have expensive prints made.
Compact Flash memory cards were cheap and the LCD or computer monitor allowed me to
judge whether I needed to re-take the photo. I could take as many shots
as I desired without worrying about the cost!
This particular camera, the Nikon Coolpix 2500, only had
a tiny 1/2.7" 2.0 MP sensor, a very limited
3X optical zoom and a 1.5 in LCD.
However, it surprisingly took great photographs and exceptional macro
shots. Its small size and easy-to-use controls made it fun carry and a
joy to use everyday. These days (2010), this camera can be purchased
used on eBay for as little as $30. Why wouldn't you carry it every
day? |
Eventually, however, the bigger-and-better camera bug bit me and I began
using other digital
cameras. I hope to learn how to get the most of my cameras so I can take
some nice photos. To get me started, I purchased some excellent
photography books and I
highly recommend that any novice read them to help get them started. I also
collected some basic photography equipment I
could use with all of my gear.
My next photographic attempt will be to adapt one or more of my cameras for
digiscopy.
